Due to covid-19, lots of businesses, groups and societies had to close down not only in our local areas, but globally, as we all know. Social lives were stopped, and businesses were put on hold. It has not been an easy time for anyone.

But as we are now returning to a somewhat “stable” day-to-day routine – it is now time for some positive news in the midst of the negative.

For all those train fanatics in the Ascot area, it is with great pleasure to unofficially announce that The Ascot Locomotive Society is going to be back and moving full steam ahead! (with covid restrictions of course) – This was announced a few days ago on their Facebook page of which you can find below in this article.

You might not be able to have a scrumptious homemade cake or a cup of tea from the café, but trains will be running once more this Sunday from 2pm.

While it was already two years ago since I last visited, it is lovely to hear that dad and I, who is especially a lover of trains, will now have that chance to attend again and hopefully, a bit more regularly this time. The people while I do not know them well, are friendly and have been running this beautiful little steam track behind the racecourse for years.

If you have not attended before, I would highly recommend it. It is a great opportunity to get the kids out for the day and a chance to experience something new.

Prices – £3 admission or £10 for a family of 4

Located next to the Royal Ascot Golf Club on Winkfield Rd.
